In order to help customers use grinding wheels more safely and efficiently, Hengtai Abrasive and Abrasive Factory has compiled a safety guide for grinding wheels, covering the key points of damage prevention, daily inspection and maintenance, helping enterprises to reduce losses and improve production safety.
How to prevent grinding wheel damage
1. Correct selection -Choose appropriate abrasives (alumina, silicon carbide, CBN, etc.) according to processing materials (such as steel, aluminum alloy, ceramics, etc.). -Match the * * maximum working speed of the grinding wheel, and it is forbidden to use it over speed to avoid the rupture caused by excessive centrifugal force.
2. Standard installation -Use matching flanges to ensure uniform distribution of clamping force and avoid local stress concentration. -After installation, idling test (more than 1 minute) shall be carried out to confirm that there is no abnormal vibration or noise before putting into use.
3. Rational use -Avoid sudden application of excessive pressure, and adopt gradual grinding to prevent impact load. -Keep the contact angle between the workpiece and the grinding wheel stable and reduce the risk of fracture caused by lateral force.
Key points of daily inspection and maintenance
1. Check before use -Visual inspection: confirm that there is no crack, notch or surface damage on the grinding wheel (it can be tapped lightly by "knocking" method, and the sound is crisp and qualified). -Balance detection: before installation, ensure that the grinding wheel is balanced to the standard and there is no swing during high-speed operation.
2. Monitoring in use -Pay attention to abnormal vibration, abnormal sound or overheating, and immediately stop the machine for investigation. -Regularly clean the abrasive chips on the grinding wheel surface to prevent blockage from affecting heat dissipation and grinding efficiency.
3. Storage and maintenance -Store in a dry environment, so as to avoid the decrease of the strength of the binder caused by moisture. -Pay attention to the shelf life of resin/rubber bonded grinding wheels, and do not use them after aging.
